Rohit Sharma should go out and express himself in Australia: Sachin Tendulkar

Rohit Sharma has played just 25 Test matches for India in a career that spans over a decade and in which, Rohit has produced seven 150 plus totals on one-day cricket. Rohit’s Test numbers have been an enigma of sorts for most.

Rohit was picked in the Indian Test squad for their South Africa tour earlier this year where he got to play two matches before being dropped. He was then left out of Test squads for series against England and West Indies. Following calls for Rohit’s inclusion in the Test squad, he was picked for the Australia tour.

That Rohit Sharma has some unfinished business in the longest format of the game, is an understatement.

Sachin Tendulkar is hopeful that the upcoming tour of Australia could be the one big opportunity that Rohit needed.

“Rohit has played a couple of big innings in Test cricket but his away from home form is something he needs to work on. I am sure he knows it, he realises that. I think it’s wide open now because it’s a great platform where he can go out and express himself. The Australian pitches where there is bounce and pace will suit Rohit’s style of play,” Tendulkar told India Today at the sidelines of Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy cricket camp.
