Sachin Tendulkar Backs Virat Kohli to Settle Scores in England

Team India will be playing a full series in England in a few days time, and the Men in Blue are gearing up for the occasion. India has performed well in England especially in the limited-overs format.
However, the results in Tests hasn’t been great, as India have lost seven out of their last ten matches in England. This record surely needs to get better especially with a strong team India have this time around.
Skipper Virat Kohli had a terrible outing the last time around. He managed to score just 134 runs in ten innings at a below-par average of 13.40. Virat kept fishing outside the off stump and gave simple catches to the slip fielders.
Kohli had practised a lot in the recent times and had tried to rectify his mistakes which he committed in the previous tour of England.
The India captain was also slated to take part in a County Championship. It was in to prepare himself for the Test series in England.
However, it didn’t quite materialise, as he suffered a neck injury.
Virat subsequently got ruled out of the stint with Surrey. It also gave him an opportunity to be part of the Ireland series which was originally not part of due to his county commitments.
Kohli will look to start off his with some big scores behind his back in the limited-overs format. He was quite spectacular in the ODI series in South Africa and also smashed the highest score of the Test series. Former Indian batsman and arguably the greatest player of all time Sachin Tendulkar said Kohli would settle the scores in England this time around.

“Good players want to go out and score runs in whichever part of the world they play. The last series wasn’t a pleasant one, so I am sure he would want to go there and settle scores,” Tendulkar told Sony Six.

“That hunger has to be there. That desire to go out and perform gives him a reason to work harder. He is someone who believes in himself. He will leave no stone unturned, I am quite sure about that.”
