Sardar Singh revealed the phone call conversion between Sachin and him

“First of all, I want to thank him. He is such a big player and a cricketer in India knows best about the expectations of the nation and how to handle those. Sachin paaji has managed it during his entire career. Whenever I contact him, he replies through text message or call. Before leaving for the Champions Trophy (in Breda this July), we talked for about 15-20 minutes. I was making a comeback after being left out for the Commonwealth Games. Please guide me how you used to manage pressure and stress – like after getting out on a zero or 99.” He said it’s only natural for expectations to rise if you perform well. If you have handled that, then obviously you can do more. You have set high standards for yourself. He also said that if you have been appreciated for your good performances, then it’s only fair to accept criticism when you don’t do well. So Sachin paaji and Dhanraj (Pillay) paaji, who is one of the best players we have produced and played hockey for such a long time, are the two I always remained in touch with. I am lucky that I could get advice from such big players.” Said Sardar Singh
